مستبدکشی

مستبدکشی (به انگلیسی: Tyrannicide) به کشتن یا ترور یک مستبد یا حاکم ناعادل، به‌ظاهر برای خیر عمومی،[۱] و معمولاً به‌دست یکی از اتباع آن حاکم مستبد گفته می‌شود.[۲] مستبدکشی در یونان باستان از نظر قانونی مجاز و تشویق‌شده بود.[۳] اغلب، عنوان «مستبد» توجیهی برای قتل‌های سیاسی توسط رقبای قدرت بود، اما در برخی موارد استثنائی، دانشجویان فلسفه افلاطونی جان خود را برای مقابله با مستبدان به خطر می‌انداختند. کشتن کلیارخوس هراکلیا در ۳۵۳ پیش از میلاد به‌دست گروهی به رهبری فیلسوف درباری خودش، نمونه‌ای از مستبدکشی است.[۴] فردی که مستبدکشی را انجام می‌دهد نیز «مستبدکش» نامیده می‌شود.[۵] این اصطلاح در اصل به اقدام هارمودیوس و آریستوجیتون اشاره داشت، که اغلب با عنوان مستبدکشان شناخته می‌شوند؛ آن دو در ۵۱۴ پیش از میلاد، هیپارخوس (برادر هیپیاس آتنی را کشتند.[۶]
